De Monsterkamer hosts an Open Doors event every first Thursday of the month. Special Guest on July the 2nd was Kirsten Algera. Kirsten Algera is a design historian and lecturer based in Amsterdam. She is conducting PhD research at the University of Amsterdam concerning graphic design and subcultures in The Netherlands and initiated various (graphic) projects in The Netherlands and abroad. Together with Ernst van der Hoeven she recently founded ‘MacGuffin’, a platform and magazine about the use of everyday life objects that was praised in international reviews as an ‘imaginative, impeccably researched and irresistible design and crafts magazine’.
