Pat was raised at the Whittington Press, started by his father John in the 1970’s, where his playpen sat at the foot of the Heidelberg before moving to London to work under the generous guidance of Phil Abel at Hand & Eye letterpress and at Alan Kitching’s Typography Workshop. Pat established Nomad letterpress in 2011 in order to do fine press, limited edition book both for clients and under his own imprint whilst harnessing the enormous creative potential of printing from lead and wood type. His work is held in various collections including the V&A and British Library.
