3/3 (Fiorenza Pinna and Chiara Capodici)

3/3 was founded in Roma, Italy, by Chiara Capodici and Fiorenza Pinna with the aim to work on projects focused on the protean nature of the photographic image, focusing on the dimension of the photo-book, on the constant quest for a confrontation between the Italian tradition and an international culture.

Since 2009, 3/3 has curated a series of exhibitions and publications, such as those focusing on Marco Lachi, Fabio Barile and Penny Klepuszewska, the collective exhibition Mizu no Oto with Asako Narahashi, Rinko Kawauchi, Lieko Shiga, Yumiko Utsu e Mayumi Hosokura, (together with a focus on Japanese photo-books); and organised workshops related to publishing with Rinko Kawauchi, Anouk Kruithof, Rob Hornstra, Joachim Schmid. 3/3 curated Joel Sternfeld’s first solo exhibition in Italy and developed site-specific projects such as The Sochi Project in Rome and Temporary? Landscapes in L’Aquila.

In 2010, 3/3 started the project Little big press: an annual exhibition, a travelling library and bookshop devoted to self- and independent photobooks.

Last year 3/3 curate and design the books Saluti da Pinetamare by Salvatore Santoro, Sometimes I cannot Smile, by Piergiorgio Casotti, and In Bloom, by Eleonora Calvelli (Postcart editions).

3/3 is part of the MIA fair scientific board and is responsible for the fair’s book sector, and a photo editor of LAZLO magazine.
